ALL ENGLAND / THE WEEK IN FUTSAL

Bucks hit fifteen as tight games share the spotlight.

Bucks hit fifteen, London Genesis edge an eleven-goal contest and the Newcastle youth leagues supply stories of their own. This week, the whole game gets a page.

The women set the scoring pace

Bucks delivered one of the weekend’s standout results in Women’s Tier 2 South, beating Bournemouth Grays 15–3. Maidenhead United CT also won away from home in that division, defeating Wessex Athletic 6–1. Both results put Tier 2 firmly in the frame alongside the top division.

In Women’s Tier 1, Rise beat MK Mavericks 10–1 and Southampton Aztecs defeated London Genesis 9–1. At the other end of the scoring spectrum, Manchester edged Derby 2–1 in Tier 2 North. A one-goal result deserves room beside the double-figure victories.

A different kind of headline in the men’s game

London Genesis won 6–5 at East Riding in Men’s Tier 1, while Maidenhead beat Bolton 5–3 and MK Mavericks recorded a 5–0 result against Liverpool. Tier 2 South supplied another close scoreline: West London and London International finished level at 6–6.

The National Futsal League offered its own contrasts. Inspired Tameside scored nineteen in a 19–7 North Qualifiers Cup win over Barrow. In the South West Qualifiers Cup, Tiki Taca and Wessex B drew 7–7, while Futsal 360 B edged Maidenhead B 5–4. These are separate competitions, and the scores alone do not make a national league table.

Youth teams have their own story

Wideopen Comets U9 beat Killingworth Reds U9 23–6 in Newcastle’s combined U9/U10 league. Cramlington United Panthers’ 6–4 win over North Shields U10 Yellows offered a closer contest in the same competition. Further up the age groups, Heaton Hawks U13 edged Brandon Community U14s 4–3.

Newcastle City Girls also feature this week: their game against U13 Futsal Emeralds finished 3–6 in the Winter U12/U13 Division 2 league. It is a girls’ squad playing in a broader division, rather than a girls-only fixture. Their result has a place in both the overall picture and the dedicated girls’ edition.
