Manchester hit eleven as the season gathers pace
Manchester’s eleven-goal haul, a big opening win for Sunderland and another prolific outing for Wideopen Comets lead our first roundup.
In the men’s National Futsal Series on 20 September, Manchester beat East Riding 11–4, while Loughborough Students defeated Liverpool 7–1 and Bolton overcame MK Mavericks 6–1. Hartpury’s 2–1 victory over Maidenhead supplied the closest scoreline among the recorded Tier 1 results.
Those four winners start level on 2,524 FutsalIndex rating points. These are their first recorded matches in the index, so this week establishes a starting point for tracking their progress. Manchester’s larger winning margin does not give them an automatic advantage over Hartpury in the ratings.
Tier 2 North produced another eye-catching result: Team Sunderland beat Bolton Development 16–3. Birmingham WLV won 12–4 against Sala, while York Vikings defeated Loughborough Development 9–2. In the South, Wessex Athletic combined seven goals with a clean sheet against Newham, and Kent United edged Greenwich 5–4.
The National Futsal League supplied plenty of goals too. Southampton Aztecs recorded an 18–2 win over Dorset, Braintree B beat Volta 14–9, and Wessex B finished just ahead of Futsal 360 B in a 10–9 contest.
At youth level, Wideopen Comets U9 are building early momentum. Their 22–6 victory over Jarrow Vipers on 18 September followed a 13–8 win over New Fordley Madrid U10 a week earlier. Two recorded wins keep them at the top of FutsalIndex’s U9 boys’ rankings.
Elsewhere in Newcastle’s combined U9/U10 competition, Killingworth Reds U9 beat Stan Lorenzo Valiants U10 7–6. WBFC Warriors U10’s 11–6 win over Blackfyne Blue U9 brings Warriors into the U10 rankings at fourth. Willington QS Tiempo consequently slip from fourth to fifth without playing during the week—a reminder that movement can come from results elsewhere.
For women’s and girls’ futsal, our records contain no new results for this reporting week. The latest girls’ results in the index date from May, leaving a clear gap in current coverage.
Next weekend brings women’s Tier 2 fixtures on 26 September, including Bucks against Wessex Athletic, Coventry Godiva against Team Sunderland, and Project Futsal against Derby City. They give the next edition another set of teams and results to follow. England Futsal’s fixture schedule.
Results and rankings reflect FutsalIndex’s recorded coverage through 23 September 2026.
